Society for Pediatric Dermatology Pre- AAD Meeting
March 18, 2027

Kick off your AAD week with an afternoon dedicated to pediatric dermatology. The Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD) Pre-AAD Meeting brings together pediatric dermatologists, general dermatologists, APPs and trainees for focused education on caring for infants, children and adolescents with skin disease, right before the AAD Annual Meeting kicks off.
Course Directors
The 2027 meeting is led by a Bay Area team of pediatric dermatology experts: Regina Celeste Ahmad, MD, PhD and Sarah Coates, MD of UCSF, and Ilka Netravali, MD, PhD of Stanford.
Sam Weinberg’s Cases of the Year
A highlight of the afternoon is Sam Weinberg’s Cases of the Year, a showcase of the most interesting and educational pediatric dermatology cases from the past year. Case submissions open in November 2026 and close in early January 2027, so it’s a great chance for residents and fellows to get involved.
CME Credit
Attendees can earn up to 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for the live, in person program. Please note there is no virtual option and sessions will not be recorded.
Who Should Attend
The SPD Pre-AAD Meeting is open to pediatric and general dermatologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, fellows and medical students. It’s an especially trainee friendly meeting:
- Residents and fellows register at a reduced rate and attend the reception free
- Medical students attend the meeting and reception at no charge
Registration
Early registration runs through February 18, 2027, with rates starting at $150 for SPD members and APPs, $195 for non members and $70 for residents and fellows. Reception tickets for guests, including children, can be added during registration and may not be available onsite.
Travel and Hotel
The venue will be announced soon. SPD does not have its own room block, so attendees should book through the AAD Annual Meeting housing block.
